Task Edit
This dialog allows editing and deletion of a task.
Action List
The main part of the screen is a list of the actions contained in the currently
selected task.
To edit an action, click on it.
An action can be moved around within the task by long-clicking on it and
dragging it to the desired position.
To delete an action, drag it to the dustbin which appears while dragging and
then release.
On the right of each action is an icon stipulating whether the
action is a setting or not. See here for
more information.
Task Control Row
Directly underneath the action list is a row of buttons with icons.
- Add Action: add an action on the end of the task.
- Task Properties: show extended properties for the task.
- Name: self-explanatory...
- Task Icon button: shows the icon associated with the task. Clicking on it
allows changing of the icon.
- Delete: self-explanatory. If a task is referenced by one or more profiles, it
cannot be deleted here. You first need to delete the references to the task from the profile
list.
Bottom Row Buttons
Select Button
Select a different task to edit. Only present when coming to the Task Edit screen via
the Tasks button on the Profile List screen.
KillAll Button
This button in the bottom right will stop all running tasks. It is not
displayed if there are no running tasks.
Test Button
Run the task. Be aware that if the Task e.g. loads another
activity, you must return to Tasker and press save otherwise all changes made
while in the Task Edit screen will be lost.
Tasks run via the Test button have priority 10.
Menu Items
Export
Write the current (named) task to an XML file on the SD card.
The tasks are written to /sdcard/Tasker/tasks/taskname.tsk.xml.
If the file already exists on the card, it is overwritten.
